Change it Starts with me...

“Youths are the hope of the Fatherland,” Dr. Jose Rizal, our national hero said.

Yes! I am one of them---the youths that Dr. Jose Rizal mentioned. I’m just a 16-year-old girl but I can help our nation and eventually change it and make it better.

In more than one decade and in almost two decades that I lived here on Earth, I have seen and have encountered different problems, here, there, and everywhere, that our nation is encountered by our nation. And guess what? We people, are the disputes… We are to be blame…We are the ones who are doing these things---these tedious things in our nation. So what will we do now? If I am the one who is being asked, I would say that “I will start the change in me!” Everything starts with ourselves.

"I must discipline myself… I must respect myself… I must love myself…"

Love yourself first before loving others…Respect yourself first before respecting others. Discipline yourself first before disciplining others. Thus, we can change our nation by starting it with ourselves! I, as a youth, I can help change my nation with these traits.

If all the youths have these traits, our nation will be better and we can face all of its problems bravely!

My Dream, My Future

As I grow up, as I wake up in the morning, as I watch the sun rise, I start dreaming about myself in the future---of whom will I be in the near future.

Everybody in this world has their own dreams that they want to come true in the future and I would say, “I am one of them.”

I have my own fantasy, hallucination, illusion, imagination, or DREAM as everybody addresses. I want to be a dean’s leister and finish my college with honor. To be a magna cum laude will be okay with me. I want to be a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and at the same, Lawyer. After passing the licensure examination, I will work in Manila, and there, I will pursue Law. I will pass the Bar Exam and I will have a nice work there. After having a stable job there, I will marry a man who will be deserving for me, who will accept me for who I am, who will be a good father to our two children (I like to have only two children, a beautiful girl and a handsome boy), a good husband, and who will love me not ‘till death do us part’ but till ETERNITY. I will save money because I want to settle in States. I want to migrate there with my family for good. I want to tour around the world but first, around the Philippines.

These are my dreams…dreams that are impossible and hard to conquer…dreams that I want to come true but I’ll only come true, with my perseverance, wisdom, and trust in the LORD. I will ask for His help so that I can fulfill my dreams.

Something New...

As the year of the tiger(2010) came, third Grading Period have been over. It's gonna' be our fourth and last grading period! Third Grading Period left me with a fantastic and interesting knowledge. I've learned something new...

So what's interesting in this quarter? Before, I'm curious on how web pages are designed and made, but now I know and I've been an enthusiast. We have applied our lessons in the previous quarter---the second quarter about making codes and attributes in the notepad. It was more complicated now because you must be good in designing or making a concept to make your web page cool and pleasant. In addition, the program used is the MS Frontpage which is new to me because it's my first time to use it. With my determination and hardwork I know I did a good work but I will let ma'am Eve do the judgment.

Since third quarter is over and the fourth quarter now starts, I must be more3 hardworking and more determinated so that I will be able to do the an excellent work.

Yuletide Season has begun…

Christmas is the feast of the birth of Jesus Christ that is celebrated by every people on December 25. What is its true essence then?

We must always remember that Christmas is all about the birth of Christ and it’s a season for peace, happiness, and love.

Peace.
We must learn how to forgive and to forget even if it’s hard. When there are people who have done rude things to you, just be humble, forgive them, forget what they’ve done, and let God do the right thing.

Happiness.
Christmas is not Christmas when we’re feeling blue. We must cheer ourselves and give joy to others. Giving gifts wholeheartedly and sharing our blessings are the best things we could do this Yuletide Season to bring happiness to everyone.

Love.

This season is not complete without love to one another. There would be Peace and Happiness if there is love. As they said,
“love is one of the most powerful things on Earth.”

It’s the reason why Jesus Christ sacrificed His life to save us from our sins.

Peace, Happiness, and Love, are the true essence of Christmas because it would not be perfect without these.

November---the month of remembering our loved ones who passed away…and a busy month for us in ISNHS.

For this month, there were so many happenings. The Values Club held some activities such as the “Sayawit”, essay writing contest, kite flying, film viewing, and etc. Aside from that, our school hosted the Division STEP Skills Competition and the Athletic Meet wherein all the elementary and secondary schools in Vigan City have joined. The search for MISS UNO was also held.

These activities of the month are not the climax for me. The big deal was that my group in our IP in Research, qualified for the Intel Regional Science Fair and won as the second place for Cluster II in Divisional Stage Competition. I had mixed emotions when my name was mentioned by Mrs. Aquino, I was overwhelmed and proud for myself and to my two group mates as well.

My November was not so perfect because we’ve lost a teacher---our second mother. Senora Parel had her retirement on the second week of the month. I’ve been depressed for several days, hoping for a teacher just like her. No one can ever replace her in our hearts. That’s how we love her.

November 2009---my memorable month ever for I’ve experienced happiness and sadness.

A New World in the Second Quarter

Another quarter had surpassed and left me with new learning.
This second quarter is far way different than the first quarter.
In the first quarter, we’ve tackled and learned about the Internet and the Blog with their definitions, uses, history, and etc.
On the contrary, this quarter, we have gone to a new world---the world of HTML (hypertext mark-up language). I’ve learned that it is (HTML) the most common display instructions in the www (World Wide Web). It was when I’ve known who’s making the web standard; what are the three most essential web standards---the HTML, CSS, XML; what is an HTML file: what are the HTML editors; and last but not the least is the mark-up tag.
At first, when I was a beginner in using the internet I had so many questions---that have been answered by our lessons this second grading. I was so ignorant then…but now; I am wise---for what reasons?

Even though we had rare discussions because of many interruptions…we had lots of activities. From these activities, Ma’am Eve let us discover and do our work without her total help…but of course, she had given us instructions on what we must do to make our work easier.

“Discovering new stuffs by you is one way of learning.”

I can confidently and proudly say that I had a great job. I’ve done my activities with wisdom and intelligence. It’s my pleasure to learn about new stuffs. I must also say that I really enjoyed this second grading period and I am looking forward in the next quarter.

My Teacher,My Hero

My first impression to her is serious and terror. But as I got to know her more, I have realized that she's the total opposite of who I thought she is.
She is a jolly person. She is a joker and she talks with a great sense of humor. The way of her teaching is different because she's not just a medioker teacher. She's old so she have eaten many rice compared to the other teachers who are new in the service. When she teaches us, we rarely get bored but we always laugh and we are always alive. She could relate our lessons in Physics to reality or how can we apply it in our daily lives. She is not that terror but she is only strict. She scolds us because of our own fault and she only cares for us. All she wanted is for us to be responsible to do our own duties in school and most importantly, in our second home-our homeroom/classroom. If our classroonm is dirty, she sometimes scolds us because she doesn't want that her students, most especially her advisory class, to be criticized by others for being unresponsible.
The "she" that I was talking about is no other than Mrs. Ester L. Alegre-our intelligent teacher in Physics, our thoughtful adviser, and our loving second mother. She is my present hero aside from my mother and of course,Jose Rizal. She did so many things to open and enlighten my mind. She thought us many things that helped me to be more responsible and to love and to know God more.
All I can say now is "Thank you very much Mrs. Alegre." I'll treasure and consider you as one of my heroes.
